What's usually behind it
Burner element or radiant coil failure
On glass-top electrics a single dead burner is usually the radiant element under the glass — a straightforward swap without replacing the whole top.
Spark module and electrode faults
The endless-clicking gas cooktop: a spilled boil-over shorting an electrode, or a failing spark module. Often fixable in one visit after a careful dry-out and test.
Induction board and pan-detection errors
Induction tops are computers with a coil. Error flashes usually mean a power board or sensor fault — diagnosable by code, and worth repairing on mid- and high-end units.
Cracked glass
We'll be straight with you: replacement glass often costs close to a new cooktop. We quote it honestly and tell you when it's not worth doing.

Cooktop questions
My gas cooktop keeps clicking after the burner lights. Why?
Usually moisture from a boil-over sitting in the igniter, or a burner cap that's not seated square. If a day of drying out doesn't stop it, the spark module or electrode needs attention.
Can one burner be fixed, or is it the whole cooktop?
One burner is almost always one part — an element, a switch, or an electrode. You don't replace a cooktop for a single dead burner.
My induction top says it doesn't detect the pan.
First: is the pan magnetic? A fridge magnet should stick to the base. If it does and the error persists, the detection circuit or coil needs a proper diagnosis.
